If I want to understand whether a technology will succeed, consider the following reversal: assume the tech under consideration is the prevailing methodology. Now, propose the status quo as the new challenger. Would the status quo as new challenger ever work?
Example. Suppose we all drove electric cars. What would internal combustion offer?
Another. What if your feed was strictly what you curated and never what an algorithm suggested?
What if we had insisted every infrastructure project was sculpted? Would we have increased public engagement in energy policy?
Finally, what if the temperature in our buildings never fluctuated, regardless of the season? What would we think of homes and offices and factories built to our prevailing standards?
