Category: Sustainability
Sustainability means using resources within certain constraints. We have felt that progress on environmental sustainability must include the hands and decisions of those who design, build, repair and manage our buildings and infrastructure. After all, the facilities sector accounts for 30-60% of the energy budget of the world – depending on how you count. Asset management, resource management and facilities management are methods that provide feedback for achieving these goals. Projects we categorize as sustainability also include ideas that give us fresh insights into solving our problems. Curiosity, imagination and goodwill are necessary components of the way forward.
